Especially among young people, jet skiing during the sun, sea, beach holidays is very popular. The consequences for nature and the environment are less well known, but no less important. Due to the emissions and noise involved in jet skiing, the underwater world suffers a lot of irreparable damage. The emissions of a jet ski are huge: an entire day on the jet ski has the same emissions as a 161,000 km car ride. In addition, 1/3 of the oil disappears unburned into the water. In addition to the environmental effects, noise pollution is a major annoyance for other holidaymakers. Enough reason, therefore, that a number of tour operators have removed jet ski activities from their program. There are plenty of alternatives, such as swimming, sailing, pedal boats and (wind) surfing.
