When you are planning to go on a safari, please take the following aspects into consideration:
- Stay at least 20 metres away from the animals
- Don’t make too much noise when you’re close to the animals: otherwise you’ll disturb their lifestyle
- Never feed the animals. The animals live in the wild and should not become dependent on humans
- Never take anything from the parks and don’t throw anything away
- Stay overnight at ecolodges that take care of the environment and give their guests the opportunity to visit community projects
- Visit projects set up by locals
- If you want to take a picture of someone, always ask in advance. Indigenous peoples like the Maasai and Samburu are not served if unsolicited photos are taken
- Stay on the paths with the safari jeep. If you go away from that, small animals can be killed and it creates habitat destruction
